Kal Mentak  PhD, / CEO

Dr. Mentak is a serial entrepreneur and inventor. He has founded and led several successful medical device companies.  He is the inventor of the enVista® and Eternity® Natural® IOLs sold by B&L and Santen Ltd.  Dr. Mentak is the co-founder of the Catalyst Technology Innovation Group, a medical project generator in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Dr. Mentak has a PhD in Materials Science and Bioengineering from the University of Florida and holds 30 US and international patents.


Richard Ginn  CTO / Director


Richard Ginn is a serial entrepreneur who has founded or co-founded multiple medical device companies.  He is the co-inventor of the The CATAMARAN™ Sacroiliac Joint Fixation System.


Mr. Ginn’s focus is primarily on Intellectual property and product development, He has traveled throughout the world to train and has participated in multiple first in human (FIH) trials and is a named inventor on more than 200 patents for medical devices.


Over the course of his career he has helped raise more than $50 Million in Venture Capital and has provided an average 10X return to his investors.

Richard Ferrari / Director

Mr.Ferrari is a Co-founder of De Novo Ventures, a premier Medical Devices and Biotechnology firms with $650 million under management. He has raised approximately a billion dollars for companies he has directly influenced and has participated in over $2 billion in acquisition events.  Mr. Ferrari was the successful CEO of two publicly traded medical technology companies.  Mr. Ferrari also Co-founded the Medical Technology Group, which spun out Integrated Vascular Systems, acquired by Abbot Vascular and Ensure, which was eventually acquired by J&J.

 

Previously Mr. Ferrari was Executive Vice President and General Manager of ADAC Laboratories. In 1996, he founded Saratoga Ventures, a venture capital partnership that has provided seed financing to startup medical technology companies.  Mr. Ferrari is the recipient of the Mallinckrodt Award for Excellence in Medicine and has been a finalist for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Richard holds a B.S. degree from Ashland University and an MBA from the University of South Florida.
